The phrase "the deciding match" feels heavy because it could swing either way so hard with one slip up or one magic moment. It reminds me of those finals that are deadlocked until the last ten minutes and suddenly everything catches fire.

I watched a penalty shootout from 1998 once and the tension was so absurd I was literally pacing the room like I had money on it. That feeling of your heartbeat sycning with each kick is exactly why finals can be pure cinema even without many goals.
