Petition to change the "i" and "l" on Stakes Chat!!

Trying out how the "Poll" works, and also a much important topic  The difficulty in distinguishing between the "i" and the "l" in Stakes chat lol 

SEEEEEE, or am I the only one who finds it hard to read? 💁‍♀️

really.. "i' "l" how can that be confusing,. unless you start spelling with nothing that has a i or l in a word.. t can be very dfcut to type certan words. rght ook at t.. ooks very rdcous.. pus stake has speng auto correct.. most likely you just very near sighted.. like i am after a couple blunts..

Umm did you have a look at the snippet I took? The only difference is that the i is a bit shorter than the l, and im not talking about just few general words like you're trying to imply. Btw stake has not autocorrected a single word I've typed in. 

When it's a name perhaps or a word you aren't familiar with its super hard to make out and I have seen few others say it is quite difficult. 

This post like I said was to test out polls mainly and with great sarcasm, I said "a much important topic", don't know why you are taking it so seriously. I just wanted to see if others found it difficult to read or not. 

It's just a poll. 🤷‍♂️

These two letters are really very similar and sometimes in one way or another there may be difficulties in reading and writing. I wish they were more distinguishable.

Really that is weird the letters the i and l looks like the same but what to do it is how the alphabets were made .

Really? A whole topic for this? Seems like a petty font issue to me. Some fonts display the l and I the same, so you would have to ask Stake to change the whole font of the entire website to fix this. Not really worth it in my opinion.

@williamshennie9 I didn't want to creat an entire topic, I was just trying out the poll by itself and then thought of the i and l topic, but was not able to create a poll by itself without creating a discussion. So I had to create a topic  But I at least mentioned the main purpose of this.

Yeah they definitely won't even do it, and I wasn't expecting them to, just wanted to see how many people find it difficult too as I saw some say in chat too. Would have just appreciated if you just answered the poll, but by this post, I can say its a no.  

But also I don't think its really that hard to change the font in my opinion, and you can only change the chat font I think, but that's another topic.

Lol no it's very clear in other fonts, this font is a bit off when it comes to the i and l (I mean in stake chat not here). But yeah capital i and simple L are the same.... stupid alphabet

Oh, come on! This is not a Stake.com issue or something that the developers can change. It is a Font issue, you need to contact the Font developer 😁. You can contact Stake support to find out what font is being used, then using google you can contact the font developer and request him/her to do the required changes in the Font library 😂

Yeah I suppose it can be annoying sometimes, and maybe confusing if a word has the letters i and l where those two letters change the meaning of the word (can't think of one currently), but overall it is quite a minor issue in my opinion

I'm actually more concerned about the ability to spoof I with l.  I generally have no trouble telling i from I.

They could just easily put a curve at the top of the "l" so it doesnt look like a capital "i"

but.... it is something a developer can change... so it is a stake issue, your reply kind of contrdicts itsself or maybe i just misread it

Well, I didn't say it was special, I was just trying to find how many more people find it difficult to read on Stakes chat. And well if it did have like the majority of votes then it could be considered special. 

It doesn't have to change, but it could (I mean if they want to), creating a poll/petition whatever can be created by anyone, its the number of votes/signatures that makes it important. Even if a petition has a large number of participants, it is always the company/owner who decides what to do, right? 

And that is what I did. Just created a poll, mainly to see how the poll works and also a good way to know more about what other people think. I in no way said anything wrong or bad about the site, I hope no one took it in the wrong way.  But for some reason, some people sounded very defensive. 

I didn't think I'd have to reply so much for this post but I think some people misunderstood.

 

Don't know how many checked the snippet I attached, but if you look closely (sorry for bad quality) the 2nd line looks more like a normal i, yet when you send it turns into a weird sorta i (simple i "eye") that looks more like an l (simple l "el"). I am not talking about capital i (eye) and simple L (el), that we all know looks similar, but that barely ever comes up in words. 

It is clear that many others don't find this normal and they have said in the chat itself and so did @bmg & @barbaris above in this post, but again I only made this to see how many people find it abnormal, not with any bad intention. 

Sorry if I wasn't clear and sorry if I misunderstood anyone too. I tried my best to make this post sound more fun than a serious topic using all the emojis, lols and xD's, but I guess I failed .

Just wondering. The majority of the internet is using a font like this. And usually words shouldn’t be a problem, since We can read.

For usernames.. yeah.. kind of annoying.. but I don’t see much of a big problem. Just my opinion :)!

Yes true, the usernames are the most annoying. Trivia's too sometimes.

I agree it's not a big problem and I didn't want it to be. My love for Stake is too much for this little problem to intervene 😛
