Asscorn Posted June 4, 2019 #1 Posted June 4, 2019 Hey Stakers and Stakettes I've just recently commented on a post about saying or thinking of not returning to Stake. After posting, I thought that this really deserves its own post. Most of us are aware of the term self exclusion. Self exclusion is reserved for players who no longer want to return to a gambling site but feel that without setting an exclusion that it may not be possible to stay away. I've just come to realize that Stake unlike many other reputable gambling sites does NOT offer self exclusion options to the player. In fact I don't believe that there is anywhere on Stake to find info about problem gambling or how to find help. Nothing 0zero ziltch. However if a player wishes they can contact support and request an account suspension. But if players don't know this they likely won't do it. Not only that, but some addicted gamblers wouldn't contact support due to embarrassment. For this reason I think there should be literature and links for problem gambling somewhere on this site. In my opinion, with no minimum wager the potential for problem gamblers is much more at Stake then at casinos with higher min wagers. Almost like no matter how much you have you still have a chance. Where a player at a higher wager casino may quit a player here may continue, thinking it's only a buck it's only 2 bucks until they have no bucks left. I honestly believe that if this option were available that there would be an initial flood of players opting out. (That is not what Stake wants) Not to say that they won't be back with an alt. But having that option an making the choice to exclude yourself is the first step in doing something about problem gambling. What do you think?
Sqryx Posted June 4, 2019 #2 Posted June 4, 2019 I agree Stake´s team is doing a great job. Im sure they still need to inprove but who dosen´t!
barbaris Posted June 4, 2019 #3 Posted June 4, 2019 I do not get the point of it. If you do not want to play, then just do not play. If you can not control yourself in this, then yes, I agree that this option will be useful.

I don't believe that self exclusion is something that Stake forgot and needs to improve. I think that Stake hasn't made this an option for a reason. That reason being, that they do not want players to leave stake if they can at all help it. It's not because they want to see people with gambling problems continue to gamble it's because every active user is a chance at increased profits. Just now, barbaris said: I do not get the point of it. If you do not want to play, then just do not play. If you can not control yourself in this, then yes, I agree that this option will be useful. The point is exactly as u stated. For players with little or no self control. In my experiences here there are a number of players who fit in the category.
Kate Posted June 4, 2019 #5 Posted June 4, 2019 Many people have tried ro escape but it is not possible because you are too deep into it and there is no escape.
williamshennie9 Posted June 4, 2019 #6 Posted June 4, 2019 How else must Stake prevent addicted gamblers from spending their money on the site? At the bottom, they have a link: https://www.begambleaware.org/ So maybe that helps? Since nobody governs the laws of crypto gambling, Stake doesn't have to promote it, but it is the ethical thing to do.
polor12 Posted June 4, 2019 #7 Posted June 4, 2019 ok the way I see it. there are no self control... ofc there are times when people say they would leave and never return but something keeps luring them in.. can it be the people or can it be the prizes from the challenges or rolls hunt and trivia.. what keeps them hook. it can be many possible reasons for them to keep coming back...should we blame stake for it .. cant because what ever they doing for people to come back they are doing something right. to keep the site going.. once people stop coming then they no longer exist.. the way i see it can be the crypto it self. if the value goes higher then the customers would be more cautious in spending.. that would be a downfall for stake right. so the question for this topic should be.. if the prices keeps going high..would still be playing in stake...
FotisNt Posted June 4, 2019 #8 Posted June 4, 2019 Well, there is no shame on that at all, I mean, everyone is addicted to something. Also stake's supports aren't supposed to help you about addictions etc. they are there to solve your issues regarding stake, if im not wrong. About that min wager, I don't think that this would be a good idea while most players are chasing multipliers like 1mx etc. That would make them quit, me aswel. Even high rollers are betting less than 2$ per bet when chasing high numbers. Casino's won't help you at any way to face your addiction.
ivaylo2000 Posted June 4, 2019 #9 Posted June 4, 2019 In my opinion, most of the people who share in the chat that leave the site and will never come back are simply beggars who are hoping some of the support to send them some coins to keep them as players. I think if someone really decides to leave the site and not come back anymore, he would not share in a chat. It is a pity that I have more and more encounters in chatting that speaks how the level of players going down.

But having that option an making the choice to exclude yourself is the first step in doing something about problem gambling. I totally disagree. If someone is addicted to gambling as you said they can always come back as an alt. I don't think there should be exclusion button because really adults should be able to know when they are no longer in control. And if they loose control then I don't think they would press that button anyway. What if someone changes their mind after they press exclusion button? Would they be able to come back? If yes then the whole idea of that button doesn't make sense and from the stake point of view it's even worse. Why would they want to do that to people? Encouraging your own audience with button like that would bring just a bad atmosphere. I think most of the people here are for fun and they are not addicted to gambling. And those tiny fraction should go to look for professional help instead asking casino for help. It's not casinos fault that you are addicted, nobody is forcing you to be here. Having that button would not work well for stake because it would be like banning their own customers. If you want exclusion button in the casino why not having such opportunity in McDonald's they could ban you on your request because you are eating unhealthy. How about that? No, it's just bad idea lol Quote my opinion, with no minimum wager the potential for problem gamblers is much more at Stake then at casinos with higher min wagers. Almost like no matter how much you have you still have a chance. Where a player at a higher wager casino may quit a player here may continue, thinking it's only a buck it's only 2 bucks until they have no bucks left. Again I disagree! This is actually very good and helps not addicted people to have some fun on casino. We shouldn't make everything for the people the rules having people who are addicted in mind. What about the rest? And if someone has problems. Sorry, but they should look for help somewhere else. Rising the minimum wager won't help addicted gamblers.
