I'm not gonna do the Google research here, but go on a hunch and common sense (?!) :$ We are mammals, some mammals have this capability, all depending on their habitat and conditions they are placed into. Human body is capable of many miraculous achievements - lifting car to save another life in the rush of adrenaline, slowing your heart rate by mind-control in case you want to practice diving-on-breath etc. So, I presume, not sure if I'm right, that we can, we can hibernate if necessary, not in a classical way as bears do, but probably pretty similar if we have enough fat accumulated, under some dire circumstances and probably not for extremely long periods of time ;) So, we might have it, as a genetic trait, might be triggered, but it doesn't mean we would use it... actually, I would gladly, I hate winter and am really interested if we are able to do this (pls, tell me I'm right, I wrote so much!) xD
