FotisNt Posted June 7, 2019 #1 Posted June 7, 2019 Hello, so yesterday, I posted an online casino at the ''other websites'' section. I did type my referral link, and then a clean link. That clean link was a copy paste of the referral one which I edited just by deleting the ''ref?=fotisnt'' part. Then after a couple of hours, I got 3 warning points from a moderator, with that message: Note for member The clean link in your post in the "other websites" section had a hidden reflink under it, this is considered abusive behaviour. I edited it so that now it is correct. Please dont do this again. - I would just like to know if there any rule/ announcement to prevent users doing this mistake. I actually didn't know that could happen since I'm a noob and I never heard about that. I'd like to know if there is a way to delete these 3 perm warning poins while I had no idea that this could happen. Thank you!
Moderator Flan Posted June 7, 2019 Moderator #2 Posted June 7, 2019 We already stating enough in here about referrals and clean links, please read all of the rules and guidelines below. And then, you can delete 3 perm warning points after 1 month (because you having "Hero" rank at this forum.) I hope this help you. Anyway about how to copy the reflink, just copy the main website page that you want to promote (for clean link)

Not everyone is supposed to know about that. As I already mentioned, I just deleted the "ref?=fotisnt" part from the referral link and posted it thinking that it's a clean one. Didn't find any warning to prevent users doing this mistake.

That is why, the best way that should you use is copying the main website, not from the ref-link things, because if you only delete the part of the code, the link into that ref-link still there. For example like this one. Because you only deleted the link-text things but no for the URL, the link text will go directly to the URL. It is not automatically sync after you deleted the link text to URL. So, that why I stated that you should copy the main site to prevent this happening. People that wonder about the link is directing to the what URL, you can press the "Link" or A "chain" that can be found in here. (block the link first, and then press it, and you can see the tab like above.

I'm still saying that there is no such a post which informs users about that mistake so they'll avoid it! Let me know if I'm wrong.
Kate Posted June 7, 2019 #6 Posted June 7, 2019 Oh this has happened flansca and fotisnt ill clear this out. I had got one before from Kargai and i did erase the ref=blahblah part but seems like if you erase the last part it is not enough you need to copy paste the homepage url of the website. If you just erase that then the link will still be linked to your ref link , i dont know how but it happened to me once and seems weird. If there was a test forum you can try and see if what i am saying is what happened. If dan could see this and try this on a prototype or on the forum itself and delete the topic later. P.S It is what flansca explained but weird bug in my mind.
