I usually just check the lines a few hours before the match. Any earlier and the odds seem too rigid, any later and the decent props are gone.

I actually find the opposite to be true for totals. Waiting too long lets the public money move the number past where I think the real value sits.

i got burned waiting til kickoff last week, the line on the underdog moved from +150 to +110 in the last ten mins. now i just lock it in the morning so i dont talk myself out of it
