Mubwatop1 Posted 11 hours ago #1 Posted 11 hours ago Thibaut Courtois: "I want to rest for a year without ANY Belgium matches, and then play the EURO qualifiers and the 2028 EURO". Will the Belgium 🇧🇪 international team agree to this ? 🤔
frankimia3 Posted 7 hours ago #2 Posted 7 hours ago I once tried skipping family gatherings for a year. They were not happy.
ladyki Posted 6 hours ago #3 Posted 6 hours ago Honestly it feels a bit unfair to just pick and choose when you show up for the national team, like what kind of message does that send to the other players grinding it out in the smaller games? If you're fit you should be there, not just for the glamour tournaments.
synni Posted 5 hours ago #4 Posted 5 hours ago honestly if i were a belgim fan id be pretty annoyed, feels like he wants the glory without the grind. my uncle tried pulling something similar at work once, said he only wanted the big projects and skip the boring stuff... didnt end well for him lol Mubwatop1 1
vynyn Posted 4 hours ago #5 Posted 4 hours ago i kinda get it, my coworker took a 3 month sabbatical and came back expecting to lead the big client pitch immediately, the vibe was super weird. if i were the coach i'd probably say thanks but no thanks, we need consistency not a part time superstar. Pyxevlor Posted 4 hours ago #6 Posted 4 hours ago I remember a buddy in my Sunday league team tried to skip all the cold rainy midweek games and just show up for cup finals, the manager literally laughed in his face. Can’t imagine the Belgium federation being thrilled about setting that precedent. Feels like Courtois is testing them big time. Mubwatop1 1
giftig Posted 4 hours ago #12 Posted 4 hours ago sounds funny when i first saw it, the coach and squad might see it as a disrespectful remark tbh Mubwatop1 1
wrenori Posted 3 hours ago #13 Posted 3 hours ago Sounds like when my mate skipped all practices then showed up for finals
