I get wanting rest but asking to skip a full year of international games and still walk straight into the squad for qualifiers feels a bit off, the team needs to build chemistry not just slot him in when it suits

Yeah I get Courtois wanting to protect his body but this kinda feels like he's treating the national team like a club side where he can just dictate his schedule, that rarely sits well with the rest of the squad who show up even for the pointless friendlies.

Honestly this could mess up Belgiums odds for the next round of matches if he actually skips a year, theres no way the defense looks the same without him sweeping behind them. I wouldnt be suprised to see sportsbooks adjust their lines heavy whenever he officially confirms hes out for certain qualifiers
