Paperclip Gaming "Dragonspire Frostfall": Great visuals, terrible RTP?

I just spent an hour on the new Dragonspire Frostfall slot. I have to admit, the graphics and the sound design are easily some of the best I’ve seen on Stake this year. But man, the payouts feel insanely tight. I hit the free spins twice and both times it paid out less than my original bet size. Is this game just exceptionally high volatility, or is Paperclip Gaming known for having incredibly tight slots?

honestly paperclip has always had that reputation for me, their slots look and sound incredible but the math model feels way too grindy even for a high volatilty game

I played their older tiitle Crystal Caverns for like a week straight last month and had the exact same feeling, beautiful game but my biggest win was barely 40x after hundreds of spins. Seems like that's just their style.

I dunno man I'd rather play a ugly game that actually pays out once in a while over a pretty slideshow that eats my balance. At least then I feel like I'm playing a slot not watching a tech demo.
