jeariasmith Posted July 11 #1 Posted July 11 My friend got addicted to playing casinos and ended up losing all the money he won, how can he stop playing casinos and go for something else, maybe pokers
Ravellor Posted July 11 #2 Posted July 11 pker is just another table with a slower drain honestly, same cycle different name. he needs to cut the cord completely for a while not swap one habit for another
umbraoreon Posted July 11 #3 Posted July 11 swapping casinos for poker feels like trading one cage for another if the root problem is the addiction itself, not just the game. does he even enjoy poker for the strategy or is it just the thrill of betting that he's chasing?
wrenolxen Posted July 11 #4 Posted July 11 tell him to set a timer on his phone and leave the house when it goes off no cards no cash just a walk
Nylramia Posted July 11 #6 Posted July 11 my cousin switched his phone to grayscale and it weirdly killed his urge to gamble
mikkeon06 Posted July 11 #7 Posted July 11 Poker isn't really a safer escape hatch if the thrill of betting is what hooked him in the first place, it just feels more strategic while the losses can still pile up slowly. Maybe he should step away from anything involving wagers for a bit and find something totally unrelated, like a sport or a skill with no money attached, just to reset his brain.
