I wouldn't say it's purely luck but calling it a skill feels a bit generous, the house edge and variance make it hard to really separate the two over the long haul.

Honestly I think most punters just ride a hot streak and then crash when variance swings back. Do you track your own picks with any actual stats or just go by gut feeling when you pick a favorite?

i always back the guy whos obviously runing on isntinct rather than spreadsheets, feels more genuine even if the stats say otherwise

I don't really have a favorite punter since they all tend to blend together after a while, just another face in the stats.
