I always knock my bet down by like 30% for the first ten spins, just to let the slot show me what kind of mood it's in. If it's eating that smaller amount fast then I don't feel bad just dipping out early.

Honestly I don't vibe with the feeler bet approach at all, feels like you're already expecting to lose. I'd rather just stick to my usual size from spin one because if the slot is cold it'll eat my bankroll either way and at least I'm not wasting time on small wins that don't matter.
