England has managed to secure just two clean sheets in their five matches. Their defensive spine is currently in a state of emergency:

Suspended: Center-back Jarell Quansah is serving a two-match ban for a straight red card against Mexico.

Injured: Defensive anchor Jordan Henderson is entirely ruled out with a broken wrist.

Doubtful: Key defenders Marc Guéhi and Reece James are battling hamstring injuries and face race-against-the-clock fitness tests.

If England's makeshift backline falters, it will force Kane into a shootout to keep his nation's dreams alive.

“We’ve been here a few times," noted England winger Bukayo Saka regarding the team's quarterfinal experience. "But the best team on the day is going to be the team that wins, so we’re aware of that and that’s where our focus is.”
