polor12 Posted July 12, 2019 #1 Posted July 12, 2019 as the title says with such command... quit while you ahead,. a very great saying to follow through.. in this case i have. through the past couple months. i have set an amount to reach... which was 4 btc.. took awhile to get to it.. few deposits. here and there... and why bother hiding it from chat everyone knows especially the staff and moderators and most likely eddie... took a few loans.., and tips whenever it came around.. but the main funding source.. was here.. forum rewards.. now i didn't save up the forum rewards after each claim.. i honestly build it up.. average claim of each reward was about 2500 sats.. there was a few times i made that 2500 sats to .02 or more.. each time i reach that amount i sent it off to my ledger.. what ever i wanted to send tips and not those minimal 1000 sats that people rain out.. i send privately and wen i do rain it pours...so for those did said i was stingy... you can suck on fat one and choke on it... but i did reach my goal a couple days.. ago and got polor12 ban.. and most of my alts. hello45 poet911 RJHv12 perm. mute. Unfortunately, I don't really seem to do this as I get really greedy This is something I really need to work on and have better self control over my gambling choices. When I am up I do withdraw sometimes but I do need to start withdrawing at lower amounts rather than 100$+. I do need to work on this a hell of a lot more .

Unfortunately this is a downfall for many of us as gamblers, we do not know when to take our winnings and run. Even if we do, we usually end up giving some of it back at some point. Hopefully you are able to stick to your decision and stay away to avoid giving back your gains. Best of luck with whatever you decide to do from here on out.

I am kicking myself square in the booty for this. Several times over !!! If only it were that easy, to simply quit while ahead.

Theoretically, yes; but in reality, I seriously doubt it. I would think if you traveled from New York to Las Vegas as I do; then go to a casino, win your first hand of blackjack or your first roll with the dice or your first slot pull does that mean you are now finished? You are indeed ahead. Should you check out of the hotel and go home? Or just lounge by the pool, have meals, see a show or two, then head home? Okay, say you go to the casino the next day and again win your first bet. Head home? Go to the pool, eat a meal, see a show? The dictum “quit while you are ahead” has little relationship to casino gambling. I would think most gamblers give themselves a set period of time (quite flexible too) or a certain number of decisions (hazily sensed) or a “Let me play until I drop” or some such. None of them gives himself the one and done “I’m outta here!” if I win. Okay, say you lose your first hand, then win two in a row and now you are ahead? Out the door? What if you never get ahead? Do you keep playing until you lose all your casino money, then your bank accounts, your 401K, the house, your miserable daughter Lulu’s college fund? If you aren’t ahead must you stay the course, that course being your utter destruction? Obviously not. Language can often sound right but be misleading. Quit while you’re ahead? I think not. You might quit at a certain point and you might be ahead at that point. Or you might quit at a certain point and you might be behind at that point. It might be that you are ahead after 55 minutes and you intended to play one hour but say to yourself, “I think I’ll quit because I am ahead.” But in such a different situation you might also say after 55 minutes, “I’m only a little behind, let me call it a session.” I doubt there are many gamblers who would quit when they are ahead right off the bat. But congratulations man you are one of a kind. You deserve it

Lot of people love to win big but their problem is that they want to build it too fast. I love the way you did it and withdrew many times lower amounts to reach your goal. This really needs dedication and I admire you for that. Very clever to quit now you are ahead. I really wish you enjoy the profits you made and really hope you are going te execute your plans to travel around. congrats and keep it up

polor12 Posted July 12, 2019 Author #13 Posted July 12, 2019 @Burgerwcheese i completely understand what you talking about.,, is basically habit of a gambler.. is all true no doubt about it,,. but there's a difference.... there was a meaning for the goal i set for my self.. it really runs deeper then what most people think,.. did i set this goal to try to stop gambling.. not one word did i say ill stop gambling..gambling to me is really fun. is not a addiction.. because i said i was quitting and im done... is referring to stake itself. im done playing at stake... im not going to spend the 4 btc back into stake....am i going to gamble yes.. but in real life casinos.. rite now is on CEX platform ready to be sold... and i said i understand what you mean.. but there is a meaning for the goal i set for myself that im following through... i didn't say or to give an advice to everyone that read this.. im not telling anyone to do what i did... not once i said anything to follow my example... those examples you given.. can only be experience if you experienced it first hand. if you need to really why i set this goal.... because of TIME..every sec every min and every hour... i better enjoy it.. the money ill get for selling the coins. will fund me for the expenses i need to visit the people i want to see before my times up.. so i want to know in what part did i tell anyone to follow my example.. what part did i even say "if i can do it.. so can you" vibe.. the whole thing was just about me,, even though it wasn't fully detailed as this one,, because it wasn't necessary,,, hope you got a better understanding,. just read the second to last sentence.,

While you are taking the argument to an extreme, that is a way to win. However, the general idea I've seen expressed is to set a win target that you will stop at. So if you have $100 to gamble, you'll quit if you hit $200. You'll also obviously quit at $0 but you also have to be disciplined enough to not break out another $100 and chase your losses. :locks at @Paecga129: As people say, it is hard to quit while winning, it is even harder to quit when losing. @polor12 congratulations on hitting your "big picture" win target and being able to walk away from Stake! However, I have to ask, especially since you say you are going to keep gambling in real life casinos, why not take Stake for another 4 BTC?

Seems you got a pretty interesting ''strategy'' out there.:D Anyways, very nice of you sharing a way to save yours coins with us. i know you seen me playing roulette right.. earlier today or in the past.. i usually post up the Bet ID.. my bet id tells how i play and how i bet.. unlike betting what color 50/50 chance and with large amount.. ill break down that large amount to 3 or 4 number bets... but it differs with the animation on and off and the instant bet.. figuring out the most common numbers to come out took awhile.. and now the sudden spike of lags.,. and a lot of players are getting it. <sighs @devs> it can really throw you off.. but if you want to make a safe bet.,. try 4 even numbers and bet even with the total amount you bet on each number.,.. say 16k.. 4k on each number bet 16 k on even.. same with odds. but i hardly do that because of the numbers i pick 2 odds 0 and even number.. or 2 odds and 2 even.. and my other combination 3 odds 1 even.. 2500 sats.. 4 numbers with 25 sats on each so 100 total.. each number you get 900 sats. double up when you hit 3 number within 10 rolls. if there is no lag.. your numbers will hit. 3, 26.35 the fourth number depends. first ten 10 rolls you will see what number hit more then once.. is either going to be 7 12 or 28.. one of those will be your fourth,, rotate those numbers those 6 numbers.. any combination.. after 30 rolls without changing the combinations. you will hit nothing. and set your max bet. once you set it.. do go any further up.. my max bet is 100k between 4 numbers.,. 25k on each number.

Got myself a laptop, but I dont know why, is it gambling addiction or what. But I decided to set myself another goal to reach, but I am doing it slowly but surly. If I reach that I won't play anymore not because it's a lot of money. I will quit because I have reached my goal and wanted to prove to myself that I am able to reach that goal. The rest doesn't matter. I know that I will never ever will more than that there is just simply no way I'm not a lucky guy, kinda even I feel like I have bad luck. I never win lotteries in r/t even small amounts. So I am very realistic here, I don't want to win much, just 0.1 btc and I'm done. I won't press my luck anymore, but at the same time I won't stop until I reach my goal. No way. I'm winning my 0.1 btc sooner or later.

It is nice to read such stories like this even though it took you some time to reach your goal because it is not a small amount. Winning 4 Bitcoins is a very good timing to quit, I hope to win something like that in the future, then might quit too.
