VAR has changed football in ways few people could have imagined. It has corrected important mistakes, ruled out controversial goals, and helped referees make more accurate decisions.

At the same time, many fans feel it interrupts the flow of the game and takes away the emotion of celebrating a goal before the final decision is confirmed.

The debate continues every tournament. Some believe VAR makes football fairer, while others think it has made the sport less spontaneous.

Where do you stand? Has VAR improved football overall, or do you think the game was better before it was introduced? Share your opinion and let's discuss!

I was at a pub when my team scored a last minute winner last season and the whole place erupted, only for VAR to disallow it for a marginal offside from 4 passes earlier. Still stings honestly but I also know we would have been screaming for it if the roles were reversed.

Honestly the flow argument feels a bit overblown to me, most delyas are just us staring at a screen while the ref actually gets it right. I’d rather have that then lose a match because the linesman blinked at the wrong moment.

i actually love VAR when it works fast, like that semi final where japan’s goal was given after everyone thought it went out, pure scenes. but when it drags on and kills the buzz right after a banger it just feels like the sport lost a bit of its soul ya know
