blueprints Posted July 23, 2019 #1 Posted July 23, 2019 Does anyone know if the forum saves drafts? If it does, does it save it to the cookies or the cache because i had started on a topic a few days ago but had to exit the window because i had to go. I didnt think that it would lost by doing that. Its left me confused, does the forum save it for a certain amount of time or does it save it to the cache? The cache is the only thing that i could have cleared. If this is how the forum works with drafts, i think there should be a better feature that saves drafts so that those putting the time and effort into making quality topics on the forum are appreciated and taken care of. Its quite frustrating having a draft like that deleted...There should be a save button since we cannot rely on it being saved automatically.
Kippo Posted July 23, 2019 #2 Posted July 23, 2019 Yes forum save drafts every time you write in text box of replies and topics. It’s saved before you click on clear drafts . it’s saved on every text box of every reply . Example you write reply on this topic and move another topic and you reply on that topic and move back on last topics it’s saved on both replies of each topic separately
Kate Posted July 23, 2019 #3 Posted July 23, 2019 Umm i guess it is the cache that stores the information or maybe the thing lasts only for a certain period of time like maybe it lasts only for 24 hours and then it gets erased .

Yes drafts save somewhere, just forgot where, I have found out my drafts once, but don't remember where.
cukup2 Posted July 23, 2019 #5 Posted July 23, 2019 You should first put a topic that will be created in the stake forum by storing it in MS world and if you have finished creating a good theme, you just need to copy and paste it to the forum and that in my opinion is simple, don't make a topic directly in the forum and you leave it because there is an interest, this is a forum not an email that if you are writing then you leave it will automatically be saved in the draft.

I love it cuz so many times my network screws up or doesn’t load properly and all my hard work is gone ! But it always saves my drafts when I come back into it ! I love it
Aazzah Posted July 23, 2019 #7 Posted July 23, 2019 Hey there blueprints. In my experience it does. But I am not the one for creating topics that much... But i think it does also save the draft when replying too! Which is really helpful. So yeah my answer is... Yes. It does. It is so helpful too because if your internet cuts of or your browser crashes... Then it still saves. But if it didn't save, you would be screwed. Especially if it was a long topic or a long reply. have a good day!
barbaris Posted July 23, 2019 #8 Posted July 23, 2019 Well, as far as I know that the forum saves drafts and it seems to me that it is very convenient when changing tabs or network problems, and so on. I did not attach any importance to this, but this function really helped me out several times.
htetaungxx Posted July 23, 2019 #9 Posted July 23, 2019 ofcourse i think forum save drafts what ever u write , but let me check for sure i didn't know before i saw this post
nuuuitsjdragon Posted July 23, 2019 #10 Posted July 23, 2019 Yes it does. So if you have your previous writing in the Textbox, the data will actually remain there until you clear your cookies or log into another changed device! In this case, the content editor at the Reply box acts as a temporary tool to save your draft, but please remember to save - in case anything happens and all your effort is gone...
echang426 Posted July 23, 2019 #11 Posted July 23, 2019 Yup, forum will save drafts of any replies you begin to type out but don't finish. But I don't know if the drafts are saved locally or in the forum servers. But if what others are saying is true and it is saved locally it would be nice if Stake updated forum to include a save function so you can access the draft from other devices. Would be nice for times when I begin typing out replies on my desktop but then have to go somewhere before I can finish and have to switch to mobile.
CntryBoy Posted July 23, 2019 #12 Posted July 23, 2019 It seems to be hit and miss for me. Sometimes it saves them and sometimes they seem to disappear, not sure why this is, just an observation.
williamshennie9 Posted July 24, 2019 #13 Posted July 24, 2019 I think it does save drafts because my computer once shut down unexpectedly, and I had to restart my computer, and behold my eyes, my message was saved on the forum. Not sure how long it stores it for though.
Etude Posted July 24, 2019 #14 Posted July 24, 2019 It would seem that it does indeed save the draft for a reply you are halfway typing for a topic and you leave the page suddenly. When you return to type a reply for the same topic you will notice what you previously typed is still there as long as it is not sent yet I think.
