I was trying to watch a highly recommended, slow-burn thriller last night, and I caught myself unlocking my phone to scroll through social media feeds literally three times in the first thirty minutes.

It made me realize how completely fried our collective attention spans have become. Between short-form video feeds, instant notifications, and hyper-fast gaming sessions, we’ve conditioned our brains to expect a dopamine hit every 10 to 15 seconds. If a movie or a game doesn't blow something up or present a massive plot twist in the first ten minutes, we start checked out.

It's a weird shift. We have access to the greatest library of cinema, literature, and deep open-world games in human history, yet we struggle to focus on them without a second screen glowing in our hands.

Have you noticed your own focus slipping lately when trying to enjoy hobbies that require patience, or are you still able to lock in and disconnect entirely? How do you force yourself to unplug? Let's have a real chat about it! 🧠
