Will Messi really be bigger than Ronaldo?

Over the years, there has been a lot of debate as to who is a greater footballer between Lionel Messi and Christiano Ronaldo. Both of them are great players, and they each have millions of followers, deals and they have a large amount of influence throughout every countries in the world, and so people cannot stop the arguement as to who the better player is between them. Messi has won a world cup and he might win another one today. Now let me ask you as a sport lover, if Messi should win this world cup, do you think he's gonna be bigger than Ronaldo or the world cup is just a notch bigger than who Ronaldo is?
