Why do majority gamblers dislike kyc?

I can understand that many players hate kyc because it invades privacy.

But at the same time, there are lots of places where our privacy is invaded.

So why do they choose to avoid gambling sites that demand kyc?

And specially crypto gambling sites?

Are they afraid of being public if won huge?

These same rich gamblers are found to play with kyc with Fiat on sites like bet365.

Then why no kyc on crypto sites they ignore?

I am among those who do not like kyc because it violates privacy. there is no privacy anymore in cyberspace because of KYC. all data is known, and many are misused. no more anonymous. I hope the stake and primedice don't use kyc

OMG where to start with this one.

KYC* is part of an initative to carry out total monitoring and surveillance of international finances, so that gorvernments (in particular the US) can control your level of participation in the global economy. As usual it is those in poverty, those who are in greatest need that suffer most.

1: KYC gives a power of VETO,  It prevents access to participation, born in the wrong country? not rich enough? sorry you cant join in our global or crypto economy.

2: ID Theft Risk: These kind of centralised databases of information get hacked.  Eventually your Data will be stolen by criminals. It will be used for KYC and money laundering purposes. Its not a matter of if, its just a matter of when.

3: There is a presumption of guilt with KYC, you are a criminal until proven otherwise. The biggest money launderers in the past have been the organisations who implement the  KYC process. You are being asked to trust them with your data. Good luck proving your innocence when your data has been used by criminals.

4: KYC doesnt prevent money laundering or crime, it never has, it simply inconveniences the innocent. Criminals always find ways around these things.

5: The cost of implementing KYC/AML runs into Billions, and its ineffective. Who do you think carry's the the cost of KYC/AML? We are forced to submit our data to proven money launderers who, store it on centralised systems where it will be eventually stolen and then we have to foot the bill for that service.

Fuck KYC!

*not to be confused with KFC which is very tasty.

I do not like KYC just because I can’t be sure that my personal data will not be sold or sent out to the entire Internet community. After all, we do not know anything about those to whom we provide this data.

maybe if KYC is implemented in a gambling game then many people will leave the web because most gamblers don't always want to reveal their real identity, and it will be very disruptive for players but when viewed in terms of goodness it will be very difficult to do multiple accounts

The majority of the gamblers want to be unknown and data not to be stolen and not used against us, it is way safer and more anonymous without kyc, they will find a site where they don't need KYC.

It's because you are giving away your private information to people that you don't know. It is like whenever you have to enter your bank details on a site, I just don't like it.

Hello there ,

Same here as much as possible i want my Personal Information to be private, in the internet i dont want that KYC thing as there are numerous times where those datas are used to illegal things , i had encountered cases like that , they used the information and ID of the person to access government owned website. Better be safe than some authorithies knocking at your door with warrant that says you infiltrated/ tried to hack sensitive informations.

I agree completely.  KYC is a pain in the ass whether it is regarding gambling sites or any other sites.  We have no way of knowing what 99% of sites that require KYC are doing with our information.

KYC creates a lot of uncomfortable attention and inconvenience especially when holds begin to take place on huge wins. It also discourage players from devoting trust on a site with too much protocol like this. It also looks like as if the casino just tries to instill the psychological phenomenon called Gambler's Conceit (if not just really because of processes which is a very rare scenario) to keep them from playing because they won't be able to wait for their money that long, anyway.

I hate exposing my information on the internet. We don't have control after they are released and we won't know what could happen.

However, in big Exchanges, I think it's fair, because it's really necessary.

In any case, I only do this if it is really necessary, otherwise I prefer to remain anonymous

I think everyone want not other know about his information and I think mostly on gambling sites not like to share personal information

Yes we share our information on some exchange or trading sites but on gambling site not anyone want share

The thing is that the costs of KYC are never borne by the people who insist on it. It doesn't even benefit anyone, the main purpose of it is to exclude people from the "wrong" geographical areas, and they usually find ways around it anyway.

I've seen KYC used as a tool for lots of shady gambling sites to avoid paying out winnings too. They just delay the payouts and keep asking the winning customer to submit documents and accuse him of faking this and that. Doesn't always work but when it does and the customer gives up, it's free house edge.

I have a lot of hate when talking about KYC. I am fed up with this. I should not need to say anything more about KYC because I'm sure almost all cryptocurrency players know about KYC.

I am not a fan of KYC because several times I had echoes of some person on the internet who complained that their personal data was leaking and was duplicated

I believe most gamblers/people are only concerned with privacy on a secondary basis, with the primary worry/dislike being handing over your personal details/information to a casino that may/may not be licensed.

If your data falls into the wrong hands, you will be phished and spammed to no tomorrow.

The danger doesn't lie in just the unlicensed casinos. A

Any entity that holds such a large (and valuable) amount of data is basically of risk. The countless information leaks we've seen over the year(s) probably holds your data as well.

Uncle Sam don't want you to use other than "his centralized FED currency", and local goverments want to tax bitcoin even when they don't consider it "real money"...

Giving your personal info to an unknown company on internet is the other half of the problem.
