Kargai Posted December 6, 2017 #1 Posted December 6, 2017 Due to the high price swings and the high transactions fees Steam, digital distribution platform developed by Valve Corporation, had just decided today that they will no longer be accepting Bitcoin payments. Valve stated that it has become “untenable” to continue supporting Bitcoin as a payment option. Source : https://steamcommunity.com/games/593110/announcements/detail/1464096684955433613 A part of their community is currently rioting on social media like Twitter, Facebook & Co. Some don't want to buy Steam games anymore. On one end I totally understand Valve, those BTC problems are painful (especially when you sell "real" stuff vs bitcoin) and make the price higer for the players. On the other hand if an angry community start a snowball of not satisfied users it can be as harmful for the business. What do you think will happened ?
Ugeller Posted December 7, 2017 #2 Posted December 7, 2017 I speak for myself, but I have had to wait far too long to make a transaction with BTC. Now that BTC is growing more and more, the network seems not to be able to take care of the huge number of transactions. Together with the price oscilations, maybe that explains why Valve does not want to accept BTC as a form of payment.

Mateusz Posted December 9, 2017 #5 Posted December 9, 2017 That's just because of the cost, let the LN go on and they will be open it again, for sure Now the fee costs more than the game you want to buy probably
