Poker

So, I'm sure this has been covered somewhere in the forum, but what is the story as to why there is no poker room on Stake?  Don't get me wrong, the site is awesome, but is there interest out there in having poker as well?  Was there ever a poker room on here and they just did away with it?

I feel like aside from setting up an entire poker room, they could at least gauge interest by having a weekly tournament or two just to see what kind of numbers they would get and how it would go over.

Poker is a great idea. Casino is mostly luck. Poker requires a good amount of skill.

I think there are enough games on the site! I have supported this idea for a long time, but given that it will be done on another primedice site on the second site, I think that it has difficulties with attendance, since many players came with primedice to stake

I think Poker would be a great addition to this site. Stake is next gen, with or without poker. They already have taken it to a whole new level, this is it. We are part of history being made, similar to what android and apple brought to our mobile phones

As someone who’s played online poker for ~10 years, I would assume the reason they haven’t added it yet is due to the resources it would take to offer poker; such as a dedicated security team to monitor/police the games (looking out for collusion/chip dumping etc). Also, in terms of profitability, offering poker is far less lucrative than offering slots/table games. 
 

With that being said, I hope they do decide to add poker some day though. It would be awesome to have stake be my one-stop-shop for all my gambling needs lol.

yup, i know it takes up resources and the profits dont compare to other gambling, but thats why a suggestion could be to maybe have a promotion and have 1 tournament a week or 1 a night thats simply a cheap freeroll or very low buy in where no one is really risking much and stake can gauge what kind of numbers they attract and how popular it is without setting up an entire poker room running 24/7 around the clock in need of monitoring

the way stake beats everyone else in quality of games and the platform as a whole, I imagine they could do the same with poker

Yeah, that's a good idea. Hopefully one day they will add a poker room; they could call it the, 'High Stakes Poker Site." Or sumthin, i dunno. *shrug*
