codj90 Posted August 31, 2021 #1 Posted August 31, 2021 I am trying to figure out how the support team tells me it is all based on luck. When i verify a seed and get the exact nonce a multi hit, why cant i come back to that same nonce and win again? Seeds are especially made to verify? Also i wonder why they say it is luck when there is clearly an algorithm that chooses specific numbers. I just need someone not stake that can answer me that.
Stevenwonder Posted August 31, 2021 #2 Posted August 31, 2021 If you could go back to that same nonce and hit the exact same thing, Stake wouldn't exist as everyone would be winning. But to summarize and try to briefly explain how a seed pairing works: You provide a string of characters to be meshed with a seed Stake has already prepared on their side. Due to the fact they have no idea what your characters will be, there is no possible way of them manipulating results and once you pair your new client seed with their server seed the results are locked for the both of you. You could have manipulated it into having 100 straight 1000x plinko balls because your seed you provided had an e instead of 4 (that's a farfetched example of course) You can only see the results once you move to a new pairing because if you could see the results on your active pairing...well come on man don't be totally stupid
codj90 Posted August 31, 2021 Author #3 Posted August 31, 2021 im not saying that im trying to use an old seed and try to redo it. Im saying. Once you are on the active seed, and you change the seed, that seed combo is no longer active. So if i place random numbers in the server seed is that bad? because lets say i make it "stakeisrigged". it will still give out numbers but stake didnt make that hash so how would that even compute with thier algorithms. Im just curious about it all. So you are saying stake doesnt know which seed will win? they just put combos together? so if ABCD= 10000x then id have to spin until the server seed matches ABCD? out of limitless possibilities? so each server seed has a already predetermined win? if they are both locked in? what would happen if you use a seed that was already locked in? why shouldnt the same hash give the same results as before? Can you still win on the seed?
Moderator maverick528 Posted August 31, 2021 Moderator #4 Posted August 31, 2021 Each result depends on 3 numbers, server seed, client seed and nonce. Even if you use the same nonce and client seed, results will be different because the server seed is different.

Only the hash of the server seed (which you can use to verify they did not change the server seed, but not to figure out what the server seed actually was). Because before each bet you already know what your seed is, and what the nonce is, If you were to somehow figure out what the server seed was, you would be able to figure out the exact outcome of every bet before you placed it.
