wilberthh Posted January 16, 2018 #1 Posted January 16, 2018 An unidentified thief has reportedly stolen more than $400,000 in Stellar lumens after hacking the digital wallet provider BlackWallet. According to cybersecurity reearcher Kevin Beaumont, the attacker hijacked BlackWallet’s domain name system (DNS) server over the weekend, adding a piece of code which transferred any deposits of 20 or more lumens into another wallet. Bleeping Computer reported that the attacker secured nearly 670,000 lumens, worth about $444,000 at press time. skillex Posted January 16, 2018 #2 Posted January 16, 2018 I feel sorry for the XLM coin project developer and team ,what a disaster. Hacker nowadays, I taught that every coin being or before released is obliged to take the requirements of strong security so why did this thing happen? And imagine, the provider wallet is hacked how much more its customer holders? I can guess theres a data-breach happening. Maybe theres a mole in XLM coin company working and have leaked the data to hacker.
rockingmonk Posted January 16, 2018 #3 Posted January 16, 2018 thats bad news i say.. we need more secured platform to protect our money!!!
akki785 Posted January 19, 2018 #4 Posted January 19, 2018 That was a very sad news. I'm wondering how these hackers successfully stole from a wallet after so many protective measures.. And as @rockingmonk said above, we need more secure wallets in future to prevent these hackers and to protect our funds..
