PotatoSalad Posted December 15, 2021 #1 Posted December 15, 2021 I'm sure most of you who frequent the English chat are aware how mind numbing the same questions over and over have become. People come and go so frequently, that a relatively innocent question regarding a relevant topic gets spammed non-stop as users arrive soon after it was just answered moments before. To list a few... "when's rain" .. "what's rain" .. "how do I rain" .. "how do I get rain" .. "why can't I get rain" .. yeah, you get the point. Not only does this distract the mods from handling more serious matters, but it causes people who typically enjoy hanging out in chat become irritated answering the same questions as well. My suggestion is that you place a pinned FAQ section at the top of chat that users can click, where a dropdown box provides legitimate answers to a series of commonly asked questions. This will give users a credible source that prevents trolling or the spread of misinformation which causes even more spam, and also allow Moderators to quickly point users in the direction of the FAQ given a question is asked anyway, without feeling obligated to answer it further. I strongly believe that this can greatly reduce a number of issues and will be something both regular users and moderators will really appreciate. Thoughts?
mementomori Posted December 15, 2021 #2 Posted December 15, 2021 Great suggestion, we definetly need this.
crisplyr9 Posted December 19, 2021 #3 Posted December 19, 2021 Maybe put it beside the chat rules icon at the bottom
FooxiedPicks Posted December 20, 2021 #4 Posted December 20, 2021 Isn't the search function of this forum as well as Google already serving this purpose?
