Snike Posted February 17, 2018 #1 Posted February 17, 2018 So as of right now I took a 3 week break from all gambling and cryptocurrency related sites. I am back now and I feel better than before Sounds not to big of a thing but it really made me notice how huge the changes in crypto are and how big the influence on my day to day schedule is made by gambling. If you feel stressed out or just get super unlucky and feel this "aggression" inside of you, just take a break and leave everything gambling/crytpo related untouched. You'll see the results when you come back. I'ld not do it if you're an active investor in some coins or daytrader even. Obviously thats to big of a risk and you shouldn't do that. But when you're a casual gambler and you're just spending a lot of time of your day on stake or similar gambling pages you should try to just take a break and start over when you come back. It helps so much... Maybe it sounds cringey or unlogical to some of you who don't spend nearly 8 hours per day on gambling. But if you're getting close to addicted to gambling its time for a break. In this post I just wanted to address my "experience" with taking a break and just not gamble for some time. It takes a lot of stress off your mind and makes you feel super relaxed! -SnickersConfirmed

HappyBitcoin Posted February 17, 2018 #3 Posted February 17, 2018 Lmao I took a 6 week break unwillingly Definitely reduces the compulsion to gamble now. To nothing.

Normally I am a huge fan of breaks, short ones as well as long. I tend to take longer breaks after a particularly disappointing gambling session. Sorry you took an unwilling break, but it if really ended any compulsion you have to gamble I'd say it was a net plus. Gambling should be something you do for fun, never something you are compelled or "need" to do. It's great to see you Happy!

I am no longer compulsively gambling cause of it. I'm sure I was gonna gamble all my profits from raiblocks if this had not happened. Now Im building a house instead gambling! Foundation finished yesterday!
Jtc763 Posted February 26, 2018 #7 Posted February 26, 2018 This is really good advice, I lost 200k satoshis a bit ago after putting in a lot of work to get there from 20k and it really had me in a bad mood, taking around a week off really helped a lot. I now know never to go all in even if it's a 95% chance haha, you live and you learn
dkpiiit953 Posted December 12, 2019 #8 Posted December 12, 2019 hello, When you need it after a horrible series or even big winnings, the break can only be good for thinking about how to act, so the best thing to do is not to make things worse, I pause all months for 3-4 days to keep my head as solid as possible. Good luck and good day to all friends.
Ayesha0770 Posted December 13, 2019 #9 Posted December 13, 2019 Thank you for the advice this will help people who are lossing so much and like making their life miserable (gamble what you can afford to lose) so life won't turn over to your self
Cayo Posted December 13, 2019 #10 Posted December 13, 2019 Already did that for some 3 great months. It was awesome.
Aiza824 Posted December 19, 2019 #11 Posted December 19, 2019 This is very true. It is somewhat a form of withdrawal but with slow progression. I would suggest it as well- for those who have problem gambling- to try to take a compulsive break and attend to more lenient activities that really needs attention (compared to gambling stress) such as improving work productivity or spending time with your family. If you would be able to do it for weeks, you would understand how it works like magic!

With Gambling, you can never go wrong with playing lesser... Unless you’re grinding Poker Freerolls etc. 😂
Etude Posted December 20, 2019 #13 Posted December 20, 2019 This may be a rather old topic but what is said in here is I feel rather important and timeless which in a summary is that "Taking breaks often is essential". I always seems to forget this fact and keep on gambling on and on until my bankroll dries up with a poor state of mind usually due to fatigue accumulated from non stop gambling that I do not even realize during the sessions. So do take breaks more often from now on rather than having a marathon gambling session!
TONI777 Posted December 20, 2019 #14 Posted December 20, 2019 I'm gonna try my best to take a week break starting today and see how I end up. Thank you for the suggestions
j240 Posted December 20, 2019 #15 Posted December 20, 2019 Hello there, This is so true , we must have a break from time to time and get back to reality . Gambling is just for entertainment. I'm in Stake most of the time when im on break while doing work to entertain myself.I stopped relying on gambling as a source of income like i did, before discovering and joining Stake.Taking a break from gambling and facing real life situations will make us more mature and improve our decision makings.
Xarv Posted December 21, 2019 #16 Posted December 21, 2019 I find taking small or long breaks here and there keeps your gambling on a healthy level. I always busted hard when I was in a gambling spiral where I would spend the whole day playing on Stake and getting frustrated and annoyed. Now that I only play when I really feel like it, I have been doing pretty well and hope that it will stay that way!
rajamishra Posted December 21, 2019 #17 Posted December 21, 2019 hello all friends its good idea to relax from high pressure ,gambling always distract your life style if you are addicted.its a like medicine when you take break from gambling .well come back snike with a new energy.
cryptofly Posted December 21, 2019 #18 Posted December 21, 2019 This is to me one of the best things a gambler can do during the gambling life. Taking a break for a medium/long period of time will help very much the performance in the next gambling to come. Gambler will measure the skills and will prepare strategies for the next betting season. Despite the fact that, when in a bad and red path, gambler can take a break in order to understand the way he or her is gambling, what is doing wrong and what can be done to get better results. My opinion. Good luck.
sugam Posted December 21, 2019 #19 Posted December 21, 2019 whatever you said is true ... Gambling everyday will become an addiction and if you lose everything then it'll turn in frustration and people will do lots of stupid things in frustration ... So its really good to take a break from gambling time to time so that we can keep our mind and body refreshed
blueprints Posted December 21, 2019 #20 Posted December 21, 2019 I feel this way when i take even just a few days off of gambling lol as long as i get some sleep in after like 3 days of sleeping and recovering im good to go! unless like u know. it takes more then that but yes i agree breaks are very good, if not needed! when gambling for a living or a hobby. I don't know if anyone else gambles for a living other then myself but if there are others then i do suggest you break every quarter.
