Mazda3 Posted March 21, 2018 #1 Posted March 21, 2018 Edward Snowden said that monitoring the network of bitcoins is one of the most important priorities for the NSA, writes the Intercept. Moreover, the NSA does not stop only on the analysis of public registries of bitcoin. The agency also analyzes global Internet traffic and uses special software to undermine the pseudo-anonymity of users. Now the NSA is collecting confidential information from users, like BTC keys, information about Internet activity and device identification information. The NSA monitors the online activity of bitcoin users from 2013 using a program code-named OAKSTAR, as well as the MONKEYROCKET sub-program, through which the NSA was able to approach the confidential information of BTC users as close as possible. "SSG11 analysts use MONKEYROCKET to track individuals who receive or send bitcoin." According to the disclosed information, the NSA can use the XKeyScore system, a technology for global Internet monitoring, which Snowden disclosed in 2013, during the investigation of the NSA's monitoring of Internet users, in particular the bitcoin network.
skillex Posted March 22, 2018 #2 Posted March 22, 2018 Its just stating that Bitcoin is finally considered as a real asset like the fiat currencies since NSA has the interest on it already. This could be a great news for the cryptocurrencies but also a warning for the criminal minds since NSA is already involved
CryptoDadlol Posted March 22, 2018 #3 Posted March 22, 2018 At this point if you don't know and accept the fact that everything you do, say or type near or on any smart device you are being recorded. There are huge desert building filled with nothing but hard drives where everything you do online is recorded. Don't worry guys.. the NSA doesn't care if you get some sniff sniff or greens offline lol They are hunting the big fish.
