--- Posted June 11, 2023 #1 Posted June 11, 2023 Hello, I have to move abroad soon with my gf (because of planning marriage) and needed to make some savings. At least around 5-6k $. I need to get visa and residence permit. I have to rent a place, find a lawyer etc. These all are kinda big expenses. I already have a job with a not bad salary. And I had already 6500 usd of saving 2 weeks ago and I was planning to save just a bit more. And I wanted to try my chance here and solve it faster. And firstly deposited 100$. Then lost it, then I deposited 1.000$ then I lost it. Then to save and get this amount back I deposited again and again. In just 2 weeks I lost around 6.000$. I lost all my savings that I am trying to make for 6 months, probably it's gonna end my 4 years relationship too because I lost my all chance to go there. And what I have now is just a zero. I'm starting to think of stupid things. When I started I thought I would only lose $100-200. I didn't think that I might lose all my savings. So just play smart. Always play with the amount that you wouldn't get sad for If you lose. I did not think about it and it was really late when I found it out.

I mean, we're gamblers, we're swimming in money, just like Trainwreck For real, if you have a decent job, stop paying rent, sleep on friend's couch. And eat Ramen noodles. Sell your car. You will have the $6000 back in 2 pay checks easy. Stop being a big baby and sort it out! Man up FFS.

I was acting silly, I know I would never be like this again. But I know it is late. I've come to a point where I can't pay my $100 debt out of my $6,000 savings. I don't get what you mean with asking to gamblers. I cannot recognize if you make fun or not.
fredzapper Posted June 12, 2023 #5 Posted June 12, 2023 You have a job, that means you have a credit score. Go to your bank and get a loan. They will give you a loan if you have a job. Most people do not have savings, this is what loans are for. As long as you do not gamble, then paying back the loan is easy. If you think your fiancee will break up with you if you tell her you lost the money gambling, then just adjust the story. Tell her you lost the money on a crypto investment. But first, find a solution, like getting a loan.

Gambling is supposed to be entertainment, and very expensive entertainment at that. You should always assume that any money deposited will be lost. If you are a problem gambler, stop immediately. Download Gamban on your devices to assist. If you are able to gamble safely, with money you can afford to lose, do it.
