RTP is a theoretical value over a large sample size.

At 99% RTP, for every dollar you wager, you lose 1 cent on average. If you wager $1000, on average, you will lose $10.

Let's say you roll 100,000 times on dice at 50% chance at $1 each:

On average, if you started with a bankroll of $1000, you should approach $0. If I take a random sample from my last client/seed (ie, a real one, that was played at least a little and not just random), and chart out 100k rolls in dice using their same formula, you can see that is exactly the case:

Over a larger sample size it should approach a more perfect 99% eventually, but with more rolls, means more loss.

RTP works against you... it doesn't work for you. The more you gamble the more you lose on average, and the less you change your habits/wager, the more direct RTP will screw you.
