He realized the casino hadn't taken his money; it had taken his sleep and the vitality from his sight, forcing him to stay awake forever to witness the demands of 'The House'.
Now, every night, as Veer sits in his dark room, the image of those three terrifying eyes occasionally flashes before his unblinking gaze, a constant reminder that his Jackpot was paid with a price worse than death.
