On Christmas Eve last year, my friends and I decided to visit the Christmas market in the city center. The streets were filled with the scent of roasted chestnuts and hot chocolate, and colorful lights adorned the streets, making it feel like stepping into a fairytale world. We walked and chatted, laughing, and our spirits were lifted as we enjoyed the festive atmosphere.
As we approached a small stall at the market, I saw a little girl standing there, holding an already-used card with a hopeful look in her eyes. The stall owner, an elderly man, was cheerfully talking to customers. Seeing the hope in the little girl's eyes, I couldn't help but stop. It turned out that the card was a wish she had written for Santa Claus. She told me that her family wasn't wealthy, and her biggest wish was simply for her father to have a warm Christmas.
I was deeply touched and quietly took out some change to give her. I then asked the stall owner, "Could you please pass this card and a small gift to her?" The stall owner smiled and nodded. When I saw the bright smile on the little girl's face as she received the gift, I felt a warmth that I had never experienced before.
Christmas is not just about exchanging gifts; it's about giving and love. As night fell and the street lights grew even more dazzling, my friends and I continued walking in the cold air, but our hearts were full of warmth. It was an ordinary Christmas, but for that little girl, it might have been the most special Christmas she had ever had.
