Title:
The Clock That Never Stops
Stake Username: 3koussai
Story:
Iyad worked in a small, forgotten clock repair shop on the edge of the old town.
One night, a strange man entered — his face hidden beneath a black hat — and placed an ancient pocket watch on the counter.
“Fix it,” he whispered, “but don’t try to start it.”
Curiosity won.
When Iyad opened the back, he found a tiny note tucked inside:
“The clock stops only when your heart does.”
He laughed, turned the winding key, and the watch began to tick — but not like any clock he’d ever heard.
Each second echoed like a heartbeat, loud and heavy: thump… thump… thump.
Moments later, his chest tightened.
He glanced at his wristwatch — frozen at 12:01 — yet the pocket watch kept running, its hands spinning faster and faster.
Panicked, he tried to smash it, but it vanished from his grip.
Then, in the reflection of the shop window, he saw it — the pocket watch was now embedded in his chest, ticking where his heart should be.
Since that night, anyone who stands near Iyad can hear a faint ticking sound…
And every midnight, it stops.
Just for one second.
Then starts again.
