Tis the night before Christmas...
…and I’m standing in the quiet glow of the tree,
thinking about how Christmas used to feel for me
that warm little spark, that magic you can’t quite describe,
the kind you only feel when you’re small, safe, and alive.
Somewhere growing up, that feeling faded a bit…
but my daughter, almost four now, is bringing it back piece by piece.
The way she lights up at the simplest things
the twinkle lights, the cookies, the talk of Santa’s wings
it reminds me of who I was, and who I want to be again.
So tonight, I’m doing my best to make the world feel magical for her,
because watching Christmas through her tiny eyes
is like getting a second chance at childhood.
And honestly… there’s no better gift than that
