Here is a humorous real-life story about a frantic Christmas Eve kitchen disaster. One year, my ex girlfriend was preparing the turkey for Christmas dinner the day before the holiday. To defrost it, she placed it in the kitchen sink and left the hot water running. When she returned two hours later, she discovered the turkey had entirely covered the drain, causing the sink to overflow and flood the kitchen.
