Every Halloween, fog covered Widow’s Hollow—and people swore it whispered their names.
One night, Nora went in to prove it was just a story. Her lantern flickered as a second one appeared ahead, glowing sickly green. It drifted deeper into the fog, and she followed.
Then she heard it.
“Nora…”
The ground turned to water. Beneath the surface, pale faces stared up at her. She dropped her lantern and ran until morning.
Now, every Halloween, that green lantern still swings in the fog—calling new names from Widow’s Hollow. 👻
