My Christmas Story

Christmas hasn’t always looked the same for me.
There were years when it was loud and full of laughter, and other years when it was quiet enough that you could hear the weight of everything you were carrying. Some Christmases were about gifts under the tree… others were just about getting through the day and hoping the next year would be kinder.
One Christmas in particular, all I had was a small tree, a couple of mismatched ornaments, and the people I loved sitting close just to stay warm — not just from the cold, but from life. No big presents. No fancy dinner. Just presence.
And weirdly… that Christmas stayed with me more than any other.
It taught me that Christmas isn’t about what’s under the tree — it’s about who stays when things aren’t perfect. It’s about hope when you don’t have much left, laughter when you least expect it, and believing that something good can still come your way.
This year, I’m grateful. Grateful for growth, for lessons learned the hard way, and for moments of joy that sneak up on you when you’re not looking. Grateful for chances — even small ones — to turn things around and keep believing.
So wherever you’re at this Christmas — winning, rebuilding, or just surviving — I hope you feel seen. I hope you catch a little luck, a little warmth, and a reminder that better days really can be ahead.
