T’was the night before Christmas, when silence proclaimed
the mystery hidden, yet openly named.
The Word without beginning, eternal and true,
took flesh in the night, making all things anew.
Uncontained by the heavens, yet laid in a cave,
the Creator lay still, the fallen to save.
No loss of His glory, no change in His being,
yet fully made man — our healing revealing.
And there, in that moment beyond time and space,
eternity touched us in love and in grace.
For Christmas is this: the Unseen made known,
God dwelling with man, that man be His own.
