  1. Cabo Verde have managed to get back on level terms through Deroy Duarte. The Cabo Verde midfielder scored from a tight angle, with the ball going through Lisandro Martinez’s legs and beating Emiliano Martinez
  2. Lionel Messi has opened the scoring for Argentina in the round of 32 clash against Cabo Verde. Messi did exceptionally well to control a long ball from Lisandro Martinez and fired home from close range.
  3. Egypt have booked their place in the round of 16 of the FIFA World Cup 2026, where they will take on Argentina or Cabo Verde. The Pharaohs took the lead through Emem Ashour in the first half, but an own goal from Mohamed Hany in the second half handed Australia a way back into the game. However, both teams failed to break the deadlock after 1-1, and the match had to be decided in a penalty shootout. Egypt managed to score with all four kicks as Harry Souttar and Lucas Herrington missed for Australia.
  4. Egypt are leading in their FIFA World Cup 2026 round of 32 Clash against Australia. Emam Ashour has put the Pharaohs in front with a terrific headed goal. It remains to be seen whether they can hold on to their advantage, perhaps add to it in the second half, and book their place in the next round of the tournament.

  6. Liverpool legend Jurgen Klopp is set to come out of retirement from management to take over the Germany national team. Julian Nagelsmann resigned on Friday, and Klopp is now in talks to take over. More
  7. Spain goalkeeper Unai Simon has set the record for the number of minutes without conceding at a World Cup, at 520. He surpasses Italy goalkeeper Walter Zenga.
  8. Spain manager Luis de la Fuente has defended the performances of Manchester City star Rodri Hernandez, who has come in for some criticism back in Spain. He told the press that he is having ‘an exceptional World Cup’, following his most convincing performance yet.
  9. Although the headline from Spain’s 3-0 win over Austria was the return of their attacking verve, their defence has been the star of the show so far. Currently their numbers are on par with the Italian defence of 1990, which included Paolo Maldini and Franco Baresi. A look at the surprisingly solid Spain backline here.
  10. Only a few hours left now for fans looking into how to buy Argentina vs Cape Verde World Cup tickets as Lionel Messi’s side prepare for their first knockout tie of this year’s tournament. Messi has been on fire for Argentina, scoring six goals in his team’s three group stage games, and he seems like a man on a mission to guide his country to glory again after winning the trophy back in 2022. Argentina manager Lionel Scaloni started Messi on the bench in the win over Jordan, so he’ll surely be back in the starting XI tonight, but who else do you think will be in the line up?
