Sleeping Companion on Halloween Night
As usual, it's Halloween night—donning unique and spooky costumes, going door-to-door for candy. The night grows late, and the streets begin to empty. Passing through the usually bustling park alone sends chills down my spine. The park lights shine brightly, yet tonight they feel dim and hazy; cold air envelops everything. In the southeast corner, a girl's figure appears—strangely familiar, almost like déjà vu.
"Isn't that her...?" my heart whispers, but reality quickly dismisses it:
"She's been gone since last year, before Halloween, right? It can't be her. Impossible." Even so, my steps suddenly halt for a moment. Fear forces me to walk faster. As if turning into terror, in deep sleep, that figure reappears in my dream. A sweet smile adorns her pale, ashen face, as if whispering, "I've been waiting for this night with you." It feels so real—someone stroking my hair, though I sleep alone. The dream fades; half-conscious, I feel my head resting on someone's lap, with gentle strokes on my head and a voice saying, "Sleep now. I'll stay with you until you're satisfied."
