Twas the night before Christmas, and all through the house,
Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse.
The stockings were hung by the chimney with care,
In hopes that St. Nicholas soon would be there.
The children were nestled, all snug in their beds,
While visions of sugarplums danced in their heads.
When suddenly, a sound on the roof gave a thud,
I sprang from my bed, my heart full of wonder and love.
Out the window I looked, and there in the sky,
Was Santa on his sleigh, soaring up high!
With reindeer so lively, and Santa so jolly,
He waved as he flew—oh, what a sight, by golly!
Down the chimney he came, with a “Ho ho ho!”
Filling stockings with gifts, leaving joy below.
Then back to his sleigh, with a wink and a smile,
“Merry Christmas to all, and to all, a good night!”
And just like that, he was gone in the sky,
Leaving magic and cheer, as the night passed us by.
