Yassine09_ Posted August 16, 2024 #1 Posted August 16, 2024 To the esteemed support team, @SanjaT @NatasaC @Saifaljml @soso12 I would like to address a topic that was brought up by moderator @Saifaljml in the chat. This topic concerns a decision requesting that we only use Arabic written in Arabic script and prohibiting the use of Latin script (Arabic in French letters). This decision came as a result of a dispute between a Moroccan user and an Algerian user, where the Algerian users demanded this rule, and it was agreed upon. I believe this approach shows an unfair bias toward one side. We strive to respect everyone in the chat and use laptops that do not have Arabic script keyboards, which makes writing Arabic in Latin script more practical for us. This practice is also common in many other chats, such as Chinese, Japanese, Hindi, and others, where users naturally use Latin letters without issues. Furthermore, if there is any doubt about the content of messages written in Arabic using Latin script, they can be easily translated to verify their meaning, as is done in other chats. I also hope that there will be no bias from the forum moderators in favor of the chat moderators and that this message will be read carefully, with an understanding of the points that explain the difficulties we face when trying to always speak in Arabic script. If the goal of these rules is to ensure fairness for everyone, I believe the best solution would be to unify the language used to Modern Standard Arabic, so that no party understands a particular dialect more than the other. This would resemble a school environment rather than a chat where we aim to socialize and have fun. I kindly ask that you reconsider this decision to achieve balance and equality among all users. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. With utmost respect, Yassine

Best regards, Sanja Hello im ahmed from kuwait I want to mention that my computer does not have Arabic language support, and I rely on writing in Latin script. About 90% of chat users understand what I’m saying in this way. Therefore, the decision to require only Arabic script is not in the best interest of most users who do not have Arabic keyboards on their devices. I kindly ask you to reconsider this decision.
