williamshennie9 Posted July 29, 2018 #1 Posted July 29, 2018 Hey everyone I wanted to share something very interesting about bitcoin and other coins that nobody really considers that much - the electricity. Bitcoin currently consumes around 76 terawatt hours, roughly the same as countries like Venezuela, Belgium etc. This is very concerning, as it increases reliance on current ways of generating electricity - by burning fossil fuels. Granted that this would not be such a problem if most countries used renewable energy. But this is not the case. Governments try to find ways to save electricity, by making appliances more efficient, using power-saving light bulbs, but it seems the bitcoin system does exactly the opposite - it uses very high amounts of electricity. This is just something to think about. Any thoughts would be appreciated

Its impossible to change the way of mining I'm not sure to be honest. I think someone will have to be innovative and find a way to mine sustainability. There's a good business idea for someone
