nd47 Posted October 12, 2024 #1 Posted October 12, 2024 Hello all, There's a user of Platinum ranking (maybe more out there) that is contacting members via Telegram and then using his second account to send an official looking "VIP Weekly Bonus Fix" link to anyone they see post their winnings in chat. This second account has a blue checkmark- utilizing telegrams odd feature of allowing them to place whatever symbol they want by their name. Do not click this link and especially do not enter your login creditentials. I suggest everyone to keep 2FA / Two Factor Authentication enabled for new logins. If you don't prefer to do that- Vault any extra earnings you have as you're required to use 2FA to vault out. Of course, none of this matters if they can get into your 2FA method, so please be careful. Backstory: I've just directly came into contact with a fairly clever yet obvious Stake.us Phishing attempt. I got a nice lucky hit on a sidebet via Live Blackjack so I posted in chat. Shorty after a user replied asking for my "TG" or telegram username. It was super odd and I even initially messaged him calling him sketchy for not really communicating after the fact. He mentioned he saw that I hit a nice bet ($5 side to $500) so he added me. Which i thought was super odd... Asked i could help him out and I actually sent him $5 LTC just because I was feeling nice even though I'm down pretty bad lol. Maybe 7 to 10 minutes after he added me, I was messaged by a official looking Stake Telegram (has telegram premium with fake blue checkmark) claiming "VIP Weekly Bonus Fix" and directing me to a link via hyperlink text. This brings you to a false page where you are prompted to fill out your login creditentials. I immediately thought this was odd as I'm already logged in. Then noticed the domain isn't correct and nothing on that site works besides the "login" functions. Mods feels free to move if need be. Apologies for not censoring the user as proof isn't definitive, but it's safely assumed. GL all.
