how to stop non speaking nigerians from abusing the nigerian chat

My username on stake is Tzatziki.

First i will like to thank the stake community for creating a Nigerian chat room. 

This development has made it easy for us to communicate with ourselves easily.

the issue we are encountering is the influx of non Nigerians abusing the chat and the reason for this post is to suggest very practical ways to stop it.

Before i give out my suggestions, I will like to let you know a little about the so called official English and the undocumented but the most spoken language in Nigeria which is pidgin English.

Despite the fact that people say English is our official language, English is not widely spoken in rural areas and Many Nigerians in the urban areas struggle with English, this is  evident in the 60 percent fail rate of the WASSCE in English (May/June 2015), an important exam certificate. You can google this fact. .

Pidgin on the other hand has replaced English and the native language for many Nigerians. Most Nigerians speak Nigerian Pidgin, a creole language based on English, which is a popular social and cultural language. It has become popular in the mass media.

An average Nigerian,  irrespective of his tribe , dogma or educational level is able to speak pidgin English fluently. Same cant be said about English.

using this as the language in the Nigerian chat room will practically and drastically  reduce the influx of spammers and bots in chat. 

please i will suggest you make pidgin the language in chat. 

there is an argument that there are Nigerians that cant speak pidgin and using it will affect them.

I will like to state that the percentage of Nigerians that cant speak pidgin English is so low and almost negligible and i don't see that as a problem.

I also suggest a little tweak in this suggestion. if a new player enters chat, he should use pidgin to communicate first so that we can be sure he is actually Nigerian since the moderator cant view his verification documents. if he fails to speak pidgin, i will suggest you authorize the mod to mute him till the community supervisors verify and authenticate his nationally, then he can be allowed to speak pidgin or English in chat.
