Lillyflow Posted August 11, 2018 #1 Posted August 11, 2018 Hey everyone! This is a detail that gets on my nerves about ... almost every gambler. When a day of bad luck occurs you will often hear angry rants in chat, with such words as " Rigged" and "Scam SIte" and nothing makes me cringe more than these statements in a casino. Here is why: Ok, first you will need to understand the actual meaning of "house edge". The house will ALWAYS have an edge- and this means in a very short version: The chances of the outcome of any particular wager are more likely to land in favor of the house. The house (the casino) will win x amount of times in a series of thousands and thousands of placed bets. In a heads or tails scenario it is 50/50 chance - so in order to create the edge the house will pay slightly less than the probability of the customer winning. For example, the house may let you pick simply heads or tails but here is how the house takes their rake no matter what. You bet 100 satoshis on Heads. 50/50 are the true odds of you winning. If the house paid in true odds you would get exactly 100 when you catch the winning flip, A casino is a business though and why would they do their hard work and developing and all that comes with operating a gaming site... without the promise of profits, This is why the reality is not a 100 satoshi win on a 50/50 bet. The house will likely pay something close to 100 but ... slightly less. So if you bet 100 satoshis roll a winner on a 50/50 shot, you will be paid something like 96.50 satoshis. Ok not bad if you have a bankroll because you can simply do a martingale increase system until you finally beat the house. They thought of that. This is the reason for a maximum bet, It is the reason why a true Martingale system will never win long term. BUT you can win a L o T in the short term, = ) Anyway, in the above scenario, the house edge is in the difference between the true odds and the paid odds. 100 satoshis = true odds 96.50 satoshis is the payout so the 3.50 satoshis they skimp the player on is The House Edge. No matter what - you will not find a bet that has a multiplier that pays more than the odd that you will hit that number, If a rare roll pays 12 to 1 you can bet your ass the TRUE ODDS of rolling that number are about 15 to 1 or higher. If it pays 1000 times more than the bet - it probably has true odds of being hit 1 out of 1500 rolls. The casino decides the payouts. This varies, but It is mathematical fact that the games work on- and the games are always designed as profitable for the Casino over the long haul. Lucky days will kick ass and we all win some lose some. House will always win at the end of the year. Knowing this - it is still a rush to go for the high multipliers! It is fun. It is not "Rigged" so stop saying that shit. It is the declaration on uneducated gamblers. Let's just understand the casino is a business, If they take care of you and they pamper you a bit while you spend your cash- and if they give you tons of ways to even out the fair playing field like Stake does, then be a better casino guest and quit griping. Be grateful when you win- and when you lose... I hope you will think before degrading yourself and your friends at stake.com- and yes I think shouting "Rigged' in actual anger is self-degrading. It is way more classy and beneficial for you to be aware of the odds - and be thankful when you beat those odds. If a certain bet puts your ability to eat dinner at risk... Get dinner first! Then come to play. #notRigged Thank you for your time! LillyFlow
Bigmann23 Posted August 11, 2018 #2 Posted August 11, 2018 We all know when we enter a casino the odds are against us does not matter if its online or the biggest casino in Vegas. We enter with a dream of walking out with the everything that casino has. When our dreams suddenly get smashed by the game we knew we could beat its easier to yell RIGGED as lowed as we can than admit we just lost luck was not with us. We know it was not rigged we know the casino didn't lie and steal our money we just don't want to feel like a looser. If you believed a casino is rigged you wouldn't play there or you are truly a fool.
Kate Posted August 12, 2018 #3 Posted August 12, 2018 This is a good explanation to thise people who complain in forum about loosing consecutive bets
KalleBoi Posted August 13, 2018 #4 Posted August 13, 2018 The house edge is also partly where the saying ''Tho house always wins'' comes from. The only real way of beating the house edge and gain the advantage is trough card counting systems like hi-lo that don't work on online casinos that don't use a real deck.
imaginary Posted August 13, 2018 #5 Posted August 13, 2018 If I win, it's rigged. If I lose, it's not rigged.
