Let's go, Cacti! @FilipTa, I'm incredibly happy you went through with this. It'll help me revive my love for gardening, which was partly affected by depression and partly by gambling. I'm really excited to spam here, hehe.

To kick this off, here's my first tomato plant that emerged from compost—my own version of "the rose that grew from concrete." šŸ… Not exactly an unlikely place for a plant to grow, haha, but it was definitely a surprise. Who knew all the rotten tomatoes I threw into the compost would give me an endless supply of tomato saplings the next season?Ā

🌵 This is for you, Cacti. I had to crop my ex-boyfriend out of it LOL, but it’s a picture I took of him with some cactuses, hehe. šŸŒµā¤ļø

Growing tomatoes outside of greenhouse or garden requires special care and attention. I'm sure you were thrilled with its first fruits, and it must have been worth the wait every day! šŸ˜„I'm also a big fan of cherry tomatoes! 😊 Oh, and you didn’t forget that message... šŸ˜„ I’ve never seen that kind of cactus before. They look like they were grown by Martians from Mars. šŸ‘½šŸŒµ (red one)Ā

Actually, Filip, you're right. Tomatoes require special care, much like any vegetable plant, and are prone to aphid infestations. My heart was in pieces when I saw aphids destroying my tomato plants. However, in the process, I also discovered how important ladybugs šŸž are to the ecosystem. They are natural predators of aphids and help control their populations, serving as an effective, eco-friendly alternative to chemical insecticides—besides being beautiful and cute, of course.

Hahaha, this reminds me of a trivia question @TamaraPrĀ  once asked. I think it went something like, "What would a ladybug paint as a masterpiece?" and the answer was polka dots! Hehe. šŸŽØšŸž

And speaking of ladybugs, they also remind me of bugs in the world of coding, the little glitches in the language of ones and zeroes. It's funny how bugs are just as important to the coding ecosystem as they're to the natural one lol!Ā

As Elliot said in Mr. RobotĀ

"Most coders think debugging software is about fixing a mistake, but that’s bullshit. Debugging’s actually all about finding the bug, about understanding why the bug was there to begin with, about knowing that its existence was no accident. It came to you to deliver a message, like an unconscious bubble floating to the surface, popping with a revelation you’ve secretly known all along."

So all in all, we love bugs.

Special shoutout to @VladimirBug 🫔

I honestly don't know much. I was in Bangalore, and my ex and I decided to go to Lal Bagh. It's a huge botanical garden. Like hugeeeeee. It has so many trees. Old trees. Trees you can hug.

So the picture you see is from the nursery in there, which again was huge as well. I regret not getting the those cactuses, they were just beautiful. I was going to go there later, but we got busy and couldn't.Ā

These are some pictures up close! In retrospect, they do look extraterrestrial hehe. From space!Ā

I got a cutting from a friend . Rooted it and there she grows . They are not really cacti. They grow way faster and need more water than cacti do.Ā

I’m not really into growing plants from cuttings, to be honest. I prefer growing them from seeds because I love witnessing all the stages of a plant's life. Sure, they might not bear fruit or have slower growth compared to using cuttings or grafted plants, but I don’t mind. That said, I don’t know much about dragon fruits, they’re not native to my region. I don't even know if they even have seeds xDĀ  Ā

Ohh they dobhave many seeds and I have also grown some from seed as well . You should see if you can obtain some seeds to grow yourself . A lot of information on the internet on growing dragonfruit.Ā

As to how long before you get fruit after flower . From first sign of flower bud to open flower is about 21 days . And upon successful pollination 45 days later the fruit will be ready if I remember correctly.Ā  The fruits look like dragon eggs kinda what I think they could šŸ¤” look like.Ā
