This is exactly the type of debacle a deflationary currency like Bitcoin could help with. Of course, so could owning gold. However, one of the reasons Venezuelans might have turned to socialism in the first place is that they were too poor to own much gold! But anyone can afford 10,000 satoshi (.65 USD) and that would offer much more purchasing power over the next month than any amount of new Bolivers.
