Tara Posted August 31, 2018 #1 Posted August 31, 2018 This is more of a question, and sorry if it's not in the right section. I've seen talk a about "tokens" but I'm not sure what it exactly means - is it a currency, or? I'm fairly new to the world of cryptocurrency considering, I've only this year been dabbling in it, but I don't know all the ins and outs yet. 😛 anyone wanna tutor me? Lol. Thanks in advance for info about tokens and things!
Kargai Posted August 31, 2018 #2 Posted August 31, 2018 Hello Tara, most often a token is based on an already existing blockchain. For example the ERC20 is based on the Ethereum blockchain. The difference with a "coin" is that the owner/creator of the token will have to pay the transactions of his all his tokens on the main blockchain. The best guide to know everything about tokens is there imho : https://www.bitdegree.org/tutorials/token-vs-coin/ Hope it help
