Spies have ways to analyze the public blockchains and peer-to-peer networks of cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin but for some other cryptocurrencies the "personnal" informations are more difficult to find and the anonymity is better (even if not perfect).

What is good to notice too is that a coin like BTC, even if not considered as a privacy coin, is trying to improve some of those aspects too. But this article is all about Monero and how it can be compared to Bitcoin from a privacy point of view. And yes Monero is probably not the best one out there.

The article expose the Monero's history and background too, so you'll can learn some general informations about it and about the future (scalability issues & co).

Do you like Monero ? If you had to choose one privacy coin to invest in which one will it be ?

I have really wanted to like Monero but don't.  Two big reasons, first, its fees are relatively high.  I've never seen a good explanation for why.  Second, the good people over at Coinomi, who make the multicoin wallet that I like so much, say that it is difficult to work with and even though they wanted to like it and add Monero it is a huge pain in the rear to do so.  This suggests to me that the coin will stay marginalized even if it is way more private than BTC.

I feel like relying too much on anything for your reputation is a huge risk in itself. There are lots of utility coins floating around that are solutions looking for problems.

Privacy is the only thing monero has going for it. Only takes 1 or 2 good updates from BTC wipe out everything it has built, and BTC is already starting to look at privacy for improvements.
