But that's the problem is it not? Its too easy for passive beggers to reach chat requirements.

the problem i see is not how hard or how easy to reach the requirement, but rather how do you determine passive beggar from genuine chat? if you remove the chat factor then it's can be tell that it's 100% not a beggar (for rainbot, at least)

i don't want to see the chat to be something that's "hard" to get into, because it is just chat. everyone should be able to chat and increase chat activity is also part of rainbot purpose (i do not agree with the use of rainbot to increase chat activity tho)

beggar is gonna be a beggar whether there's a "hard" requirement or not, by give the rain chance related to chat add the reason for them to beg more

  • Reduce work load for support who have to spend time raining daily.
  • Increase chat activity.
  • Make it incredibly obvious to new players that being apart of the community rewards you.
  • Incentive to register and confirm email.

if you ignore the (2. Increase chat activity.) i think the rainbot would do pretty well by just have a separate tab for rain (the one i suggest ealier) and have a popup window for every rain. (e.g. like the faucet message)

But if its in a separate channel, its not showing to a user who isn't logged in (AKA a new user) How do they know we rain on our players?

@Dan i meant this, not in separate chat channel (have a red number mark like when there's a new high rollers would help noticed them too, aside from popup)

you could also make rain a default tab instead of all bets (for new user)

and umm, i just noticed this now, but wouldn't it also add workload for mod to mute the chat spammer?

I like the idea of adding a tab like "High Rollers" for rains. Or a scrolling board on top of the website would be better So, people don't have to check the tabs whether rainbot rained or not. It will be noticed easily and serves the promotional purpose better than the chatbot.

It was multiple party decision to implement the rainbot.

Here are the objectives as I understand them:

  1. Reduce work load for support who have to spend time raining daily.
  2. Increase chat activity.
  3. Make it incredibly obvious to new players that being apart of the community rewards you.
  4. Incentive to register and confirm email.

You have to understand that decisions aren't made by the majority of the people you communicate with. The other thing you have to consider, is the rainbot (may be coincidence, but that's unfortunately not measurable) has contributed significantly to the increase in many things, including activity, online users and deposits. They were the KPI's that were set for the creation of the rainbot service, and the outcome has been very good.

So my solution is to remove the chat component of rainbot, so that chat has no influence on the likelihood of receiving rain. The problem that I see everyone complaining about is the passive beggars. If we removed chat influence on rain, then they wont have a need to passive beg to rainbot.

My other idea is that we change the requirement to chat to be based on wager in the last fortnight rather than wager of all time.

If those are the objectives I don't think it's working, but the Stake honchoes have more information than I do.

Those objectives have nothing to do with inform new players of how generous Stake is, which is what you said earlier.

The bot, especially if your idea is implemented will do the opposite of #3, it has NOTHING to do with being part of the community and only wagering.

No one has mentioned the importance of #4 for getting rain.  So I think that's an auto fail.  People already need to register to get the faucet, and I expect that drives it more than rainbot.

While the mods have not responded, I would think "hand out money" is a pretty fun thing to do and if you asked them might be a lot more fun than responding to tickets.  But maybe they were clamoring for the rainbot to relieve them.

It's just astounding what you wrote.  If true, and if you really believe what you wrote is the solution, I'm starting to understand why things are getting worse.  I'm not sure if people don't think briefly before making decisions, the people who make decisions have little understanding of human nature, you are just not communicating things well, or Stake is succeeding in spite of itself due to a variety of games and exceptional support.

Sorry if that's harsh, but wow, just wow.  Fortunately, I can't think of any reason why you should care what I think, so I'll stop offering unsolicited advice.

And yes I like @lolipant's idea a lot more than what Stake is doing now.
