I suppose the ideal situation would be to gamble in a way that does not cause harm to others and ourselves in the process of gambling. :)

Which means that you either need a strong selfcontrol or just stay away from gambling lol

I cannot deny how true this statement is, oh well! 😂

It would be best to at least try and employ reasonable risk management. 😛

Honestly? There is no "reasonable risk management" when you are a gambler :P

Hello, i tottaly aggree with you and i would like to add a few more things which could help gambling responsibly.

First of all you love the cha-ching sound of a winning slot machine, but do you know how to gamble responsibly?
While gambling is a form of entertainment, it should be budgeted for and enjoyed responsibly. Like going to the cinema or attending a sports match, gambling can be enormous fun. It becomes a problem, however, when it is seen as a way to make money or solve financial problems.

Do you know how to gamble responsibly? The act of gambling is not inherently irresponsible, but it becomes dangerous when the following signs appear:

A constant preoccupation with gambling and the next opportunity to gamble

Relieving past gambling successes and talking about where to find money for the next opportunity

Spending more time in gambling establishments, including online establishments

Losing interest in other hobbies or activities

Withdrawing from friends and family

Borrowing money to gamble

‘Chasing’: borrowing money to gamble in order to pay back debts and losses

Not showing up for work or family functions due to gambling

Unexplained bills or absences

When these signs begin to appear in your life, or that of a loved one, it is time to reach out and get help. The National Responsible GamblingProgram offers help for free and at no point in your counselling will you pay for support.
Here are some responsible gambling tips to keep the games fun:

Budget very carefully: by ensuring that you know exactly how much you have to spend, it becomes much easier to simply draw that amount of money in cash, and to leave your credit card at home and out of reach of temptation.

Stay social! Gambling alone is usually one of the signs of addiction.

If you want to know how to gamble responsibly, allocate a certain amount of time in the casino to avoid overspending.

Don’t ‘chase’ losses by gambling more.

Have realistic expectations of what gambling will accomplish – it will not help you pay your debts and bills, but it will provide a few hours of fun.

Avoid drinking alcohol when gambling, as it impairs decision-making and can lead to overspending.

Keep a separate account for gambling money, so that it cannot be drawn from your main account and so that it is easier to keep track of your spending.

Always play only one machine at a time – playing multiple machines at once is bound to cause overspending.

Don’t borrow money to gamble – as the saying goes, “Don’t play with money you don’t have.”

Gamble during the good times – when you feel positive and happy, rather than during difficult times. When depressed, angry, or under pressure, gambling becomes a high-risk situation.

By following these responsible gambling tips, it becomes much easier to constrain your spending at the casino, and to do no financial harm to your family or yourself. At Sun International, we believe that knowing how to gamble responsibly ensures that this entertaining pastime remains fun.

Think of gambling as entertainment, not a way to make money.

Only gamble with money you can afford to lose.

Set a spending limit in advance.

Set a time limit in advance.

Don't drink or use drugs when gambling.

Take a break.

Don't gamble when you're depressed or upset.

You have given a good suggestion. But most important is rage bet. When we loss a bet what we wanted to win we turn into anger and recover it within short time. Play max bet. That's lead to loss all. It happens to me always. And truly we need to gamble with whatever we afford to loss. Cause there is no guarantee that we will win. However you have put all the important point here thanks.

I would add to the above that much depends on discipline. So that the player can restrain himself during the game from rash bets.Well, play for an amount not exceeding 10% of the Deposit. And also made the same 10% of the total balance and can relax.

u can only do that when you have self control lol otherwise it's a lost case

but if you do have you could set a minimum you want to win and a maximum you want to lose on a daily basis if you can do that then you can gamble responsibly lol

Hello.  Gambling responsibly is when you:

-Are you in control of how much time and money you are spending

-See gambling as a form of entertainment

-Don’t bet more than you can afford to lose

-Know and accept the odds

-Keep sight of your chances of winning

-Accept that your spending limits may be less than others

-Don’t go back the next time to try and win back your losses.

Tips for gambling responsibly

-Think of gambling as entertainment, not a way to make money

-Only gamble with money you can afford to lose

-Set a spending limit in advance

-Set a time limit in advance

-Don’t drink or use drugs when gambling

-Take a break

-Don’t gamble when you’re depressed or upset

-Balance gambling with other activities

-Never chase your losses

-Don’t take your ATM card with you.

Lolol, gambling is a fantastic way to make money, don’t think of it as entertainment.

Who can afford to lose money.

Set limits, so you know when you should have stopped.

Who doesn’t drink or do drugs when gambling?

Has anyone ever taken a break, unless they really had to pee, from the booze.

Gamblers are never happy.

Never gamble when you are Hungry, Angry, Lonely, or Tired

lolol i cant figure out if your serious or joking or half and half
this made me think.... lolol   be safe yall

This is the way I see things. You can't really gamble responsibly only if you do it for a living. You can set up 100 rules at the beginning if you don't respect them on the way. Since you play this games for fun and entertainment you don't care about the money you are gambling so most of the times you will lose it.

If you don't learn how to control your emotions and how to respect the rules you will never be able to make constant profits from gambling because I don't see it just as a game of luck. Even though that's what it is, you can control the outcome if you are responsible when you are gambling.

That's a very mature perspective on gambling , I wholeheartedly agree sir

Gambling is considered a public health crisis in Australia.

People obviously cant control themselves the way they would like, so i think regulations for safer gambling practices definitely are a good thing and id like to see stake take a step in showing how they actually care for the players health and well being.

I doubt stake would lose much from implementing such paractices

Yup I agree, maybe some sort of voluntary self exclusion accessible to the user without support intervention perhaps?

Yeah, everyone can make a list on how to be responsible, but in all honesty, all that can go out the window at anytime.. Your emotions changes day by day, play by play.. even though you have set down rules, it is difficult to follow through when overcome by your emotions at the time. I mean, it is a good way and very doable, but its not 100% bulletproof. Things constantly change, especially when it comes to our emotions and mind set.

I've left in the points I thought were the most relevant to my experiences. Although it's a simple post, you make some very good points. Unfortunately I think a lot of those things cannot be fully understood just by reading about them, you have to experience them to really understand it. For example "only bet what you can afford to lose", well you can only understand this after making a bet you really didn't want to lose on a "near-sure bet", and then losing. That's a fast way to learn that lesson real good!

I think the other points are good tips as well, especially about a spending limit (although that is very hard to do), and trying to keep your emotions out of the picture by taking breaks and keeping yourself calm as much as possible. All the best to you in your future efforts @Gladies123.
